What Does 14k Italy Mean On A Gold Necklace?

by @ 4:36 am on April 20, 2023. Filed under Costume Jewelry

Gold shouldn’t have a smell to it…. The reason it says ” 14k Italy ” is because years ago the United States used to let manufacturers get away with making gold under 14k purity (58. 5% gold ), but still stamp it 14k. BUT, if you bought genuine jewelry that said ” 14k Italy ” you knew it was true 58. 5% gold, or 14k.

What does 925 Italy mean on gold necklace?

This type of metal is known as gold vermeil and is commonly used for beautiful costume jewelry. Some people will tell you that 925 on gold means that the item is made of 925/1000 parts gold or, to put it another way, is 92.5% gold. This is not true and is a misconception.
